any machine basic working priciple is FARADAYS LAWS of
electro magnetic induction:
1st law:when ever a conductor cuts a magnetic flux an EMF is
induced dyanamically in the conductor.
2nd law:induced emf proportional to flux linkages(N,rate of
change of flux).
based on 1stlaw emf induced in transformer.
stepdown:as secondary turns are low flux linkages is less
hence induced emf is low in secondary camored to primery.
stepup:as secondry turns are high flux linkages is large
hence induced emf is high in secondary camored to primery.

As we know,charged clouds(from which lightning stroke initiates)may be charged with either +ve charge or -ve charge. Now say one cluster of cloude is fully charged with +ve charge & another cluster is fully charged with -ve charge. In the sky these two cluster of charged clouds have come in such a distance that, if they come clouser by some few yeards then the lightning discharge will take place between these two cluster of clouds. There is no such thing as a Generator. All power generating devices are Alternator since both generate alternating current since this is the only way electrical power can be generated. In "generators" the alternating current is converted into DC inside the housing of the "generator" in order to give out DC Do you agree? If not please educate me. How else is DC generated if not like above?
