What is ideal location for cube casting, RMC vehical at
Ground Floor and Slab casting at 40th Floor

Answer / balakrishna bedudoori
I think the ideal location for cube casting is near Slab
casting at 40th floor, because if we take concrete from RMC
vehicle at ground floor, free falling height of concrete
from the vehicle to the ground is generally more than 1.5m,
which can lead to seggregation of concrete, which is not
good for taking moulds.

Answer / prasanna
Since atleast 6 cubes are taken for a batch of concrete, it
is advisable to take 3 each at both location, so that we get
clarity on workability of concrete.Average result of these 6
cubes will hold good.

Answer / sudhir shetty
Its at the ground floor because during pumping there will be
some loss of slurry etc which is calculated during designing
of structure after which required strength is calculated. If
its taken in 40th floor u will not get the perfect sampling.

A doubly reinforced concrete beam is 25 cm wide and 50cm deep to the centre of tension reinforcement. The centre of compression is steel is 5cm from the compression edge. The areas of the compression and the tension steel are 10.16cm2 and 12.56 cm2 if m=18 and the bending moment at the section is 7,000,000 N-cm. Calculate the stress in concrete and steel.
