newtonian fluids and non-newtonian..

newtonian fluids are those fluid which follows the newtonian
law of viscosity (i.e., shear stress due to adjacent layer in
fluid is directly proportional to rate of shear strain), and
non-newtonian fluids are those which does not obey this law.

newton law of viscosity which states

proportional to rate of shear strain. And
the non newtonian fluid is the one which
do not obey newtons law of viscosity.

Fluids which obey Newton's law of viscosity are newyonian fluids while other which doesn't obey are non newtonian fluid.
In other way we can also say that fluids in which dynamic viscosity does not depend on du/dy (u= velocity of fluid layer and y= distance between the two layers of fluid ) are newtonian fliuds and other are non newtonian

Fluids that obey newtons law are termed as newtonian fluids.
And the fluids those that not obey are known as non
newtonian fluids.
