To find closed tank level by DP transmitter , how to
findout its range.and insomeplace they using range like -
1500 to +1500 mmwc why not 0 to 3000 mmwc. how they spilit
they range for minus and plus.and why?
Answer / yashwant
THIS IS LEVEL MEASUREMENT USING DP TRANSMITTER, CLOSE TANK
MEANS PRESSURIZED ,PRESSURE IS EVERY WHERE IN SIDE TANK WILL
BE SAME. LOW SIDE WILL BE TOP SIDE WHERE ALL CONDENSATE
COLLECTED THIS IS REFERENCE SIDE, NOW ON OTHER HAND HIGH
SIDE WILL BE LOWER, DIFFERENTIAL PRESSURE OBSERVED AT DPT.
LOWER SIDE WILL BE ALWAYS FULL IE FULL SCALE IF YOU ARE
HAVING TANK HEIGHT 1500 MM THEN PRESSURE AT LOWER SIDE IS
1500 MMWC. AND THAT OF HIGHER SIDE WILL BE THE ACTUAL WATER
INSIDE TANK WE SAY 500 MMWC STEAM PRESSURE WILL BE EVERY
WHERE SAME SO NO NEED TO CONSIDER PRESSURE INSIDE THE TANK.
MINUS AND PLUS WILL BE JUST FOR HAVING DIFFERENCE IN TWO
COLUMN IE HP AND LP. ALSO TANK IS NOT PRESSURIZED YOU CAN
USE PRESSURE TRANSMITTER CALIBRATED IN YOUR RANGE (HEIGHT OF
TANK MMWC)
