If a 12m main road straight is adjoined from both sides by
7.5 m road , how curves are given at corner for vehicle
movement (measurement pls.)?

If a 12m main road straight is adjoined from both sides by 7.5 m road , how curves are given at co..

Answer / anonymous

the answer though quite npt predictable but we can assume it
to be as follows
since the middle road is of width 12m and adjoining is of
7.5 m each , so extra widening in middle road is not
required depending on the design velocity.
so the extra widening required will be in the other two
adjoining roads wgich may be taken as 0.5 m for both the
roads as width is already 7.5 m..

further depending on the ruling radius and design velocity
it may be summarized that no such extra widening is reqd.
where the deign velocity should be limited to 60 km/hr
depending on terrain
