The breaking capacity of a circuit breaker can be calculated based on its current-carrying capacity, voltage rating, and the number of phases. The formula for a single-phase breaker is I = S * U / V, where I is the current in amperes, S is the breaking capacity in kA (kiloamperes), U is the voltage in volts, and V is the voltage drop across the breaker during operation.
