A transformer which offers neutral ,when the neutral is not
available, is called neutral Tr. It is just like a star
connected primary of a transformer of the rated voltage with
or without secondary. The star point can be used for earthing
as well as for using single phase appliances.

The Neutral transformer is mainly used to reduced return flow of earth fault current to the main transformer winding. It's just act as a resistive path in the Neutral side. Beacause when Earth fault occur in the high voltage line, A huge amount of current flow's through the neutral.

to operate an equippment phase and neutral is necessary.
for phase u have to take where as for neutral by providing
neutral transformer we can use...(simply neutral t/f act as
return path). and use of t/f can be used for small range as
well as large range...

when i am going to take trail on a 3ph sq.i/m motor 5.5kw, i observed that RPM of the motor is very low as compared to the rated RPM and also it rotates in clockwise in first ON command, and anticlock wise in second ON command. finally i observed that on phase is no available . but iam not clear about, why the motor is rotates in both directions without any phase interchanging.pls answer to my question.
