Primary standard means "the concentration does not varies
with time, atmosphereic conditions......, and is easily
available,stable.
Secondary standard may vary with time,atmospheric
conditions etc.....

Primary standards are also called as reference standards.
Standards of very high purity. They are procured very less
in quantity and hence would be used up for the
standardization and preparation of inhouse working standards
which are called as secondary standard. From primary
standard a secondary standard can be prepared in adequate
quantity.

Primary Standard:
A substance that is widely acknowledged to have the
appropriate characteristics within a specified context and
whose value is accepted without requiring comparison to
another substance, this substance should be obtained from
official recognized sources.
Secondary
A substance of established quality and purity as shown by
comparison to a Primary standard used as a Secondary
standard for routine laboratory analysis. It serves as a
substitute for its corresponding Primary standard.
