HOW THE AC GENARATOR CAN GENARATE REACTIVE POWER,HOW CAN WE CONTROL IT.AND OTHER SOURSES OF REACTI..

Answer / k.prakashchandra

Reactive of generator can be controlled if is connected to
grid/ network, by varying the excitation. If the gen
terminal voltage is higher than the grid voltage ,reactive
power is positive ( lagging) and the vice versa

HOW THE AC GENARATOR CAN GENARATE REACTIVE POWER,HOW CAN WE CONTROL IT.AND OTHER SOURSES OF REACTI..

Answer / gopal manda

first of all i want to tell you that reactive power is use to create magnetic field in a coil.It can not consume but absorbed by inductor and provided by capacitor.
It can be controlled by the excitation voltage of synchronous machine.when machine's excitation is increase, reactive power also increase and vise verse.

HOW THE AC GENARATOR CAN GENARATE REACTIVE POWER,HOW CAN WE CONTROL IT.AND OTHER SOURSES OF REACTI..

Answer / bijoy

if we run it with it synchronous speed then its power factor
will be increase also its reactive power will be increase.
by controlling its speed we can control its reactive power.
