If stator & rotor of a 3-phase induction motor have different no. of poles, will the motor run..

Answer / naresh chandra jha

For any rotating machine number of stator pole should be
same as number of rotor pole . 3-phase induction is single
exication self starting motor .Thus for 3 -phase stator
winding and 3-phase supply same number of pole will induce
in stator winding and hence motor will start run .
