IS RTCC AND OLTC REQUIRED FOR 500 KVA 11KV/433V TRANSFORMER
FOR AN INDUSTRY?
Answers were Sorted based on User's Feedback
The Transformers are haveing two types of tap changers are:
1. Onload Tap changing(OLTC)
2. Offload Tap Changing (OCTC)
OLTC:
If the industry needs to changes the Transformer
secondary voltage frequently then the OLTC is best choice..
Because in this OLTC Tap changer only to change the
Transformer output instantly without to Turn Off the
Transformer..
In this OLTC Transformer, to change the output voltage of
the transformer without turning off the Transformer.
OCTC:
If the industry need to change the voltage of the
transformer once the day or week means then the OCTC is best
choice...
In this OCTC Tap changer, to change the output voltage
of the transformer at only after turnoff the transformer.

OLTC-ON LOAD TAP CHANGER,WHICH USED TO CHANGE THE TAPPINGS
ON LOAD,BUT THE OPERATION CAN BE DONE MANUAL,BUT ON OFF
LOAD CONDITION.OTHER OPTION IS OFF CIRCUIT TAP CHANGER.OLTC
OR OFF LOAD YOUR CHOICE.BUT IF OLTC THEN RTCC ALSO REQUIRED.

When industry they using load can be change depends upon
time that time current and voltage also raise or low we
Maintance the volatge and current constant so tap
changeover is import to raise the volatage or current dure
to the load

there is no compulsury requirement that your transformer
with for OLTC & RTCC. Its depend on lot of condition that,
If u want supply withot interruption of line then u
required to used OLTC. Our substation transformer in MVA
rating & it has OLTC & RTCC hence there is does not
required OLTC for 500 KVA DTC. Feeder voltage controlled by
Substation person.
