1> when reactive power increases, real power decreases so as the power factor.
2.a> in case of a linear load, only the phase difference between the voltage phase & current phase increases.
2.b> in case of non-linear loads, the shape is distorted giving rise to unpredictable feedback to the generating station in terms of current & uncontrolled power factor due to the high returning current.

Reactive power is not useful,it affects the excitation and
magnetic fiels of machines.When reactive power increases
then definitely reactive power loss increases i.e I^2*X.
