what happens when reactive power increases ? does the
reactive power loss increase or decrease ?
Answer Posted / rohit
1> when reactive power increases, real power decreases so as the power factor.
2.a> in case of a linear load, only the phase difference between the voltage phase & current phase increases.
2.b> in case of non-linear loads, the shape is distorted giving rise to unpredictable feedback to the generating station in terms of current & uncontrolled power factor due to the high returning current.
For which power factor rectification is used, generally passive networks containing only inductive or only capacitive elements.
