how we have to calculate the short circuit current for 33/11kv 2mva, 7.5% Z, Transformer primary si..

Answer / sunil ulange hit nidasohi

Sort circuit MVA= Rating * 100 / Z%

Short Circuit Current =Short circuit MVA / 1.732* Voltage

how we have to calculate the short circuit current for 33/11kv 2mva, 7.5% Z, Transformer primary si..

Answer / dipak

Sorry I give a wrong answer above and I realize latter
on.correct answer is
short circuit current=mva/v*z=2000000/33000*.075=808A
or .8kA

Is This Answer Correct ?    6 Yes 7 No

how we have to calculate the short circuit current for 33/11kv 2mva, 7.5% Z, Transformer primary si..

Answer / karuppannasamy

Rated primary current=2000/(1.732*33)=35A
Short circuit current= Rated current/Impedance
= 35/.075=466A
Similarly
Rated secondary current=2000/(1.732*11)=105A
Short circuit current=105/.075=1400A

Is This Answer Correct ?    2 Yes 4 No

how we have to calculate the short circuit current for 33/11kv 2mva, 7.5% Z, Transformer primary si..

Answer / madhu

Fault impedance in secondary Z = %Z x 10 x (KV)²/KVA
= 7.5*10*11*11/2000
= 4.5 OHMS
then fault current in sec = V/(Z*1.732)
= 11000/(4.5*1.732)
= 1411 A or 1.4kA
similarly in primary Z = 7.5*10*33*33/2000
= 40.83
then fault current in prim = 33000/(40.53*1.732)

= 0.466kA

Is This Answer Correct ?    0 Yes 3 No

how we have to calculate the short circuit current for 33/11kv 2mva, 7.5% Z, Transformer primary si..

Answer / dipak
