why DC motor body is plain cover but AC motor is different
like finse?

Answers were Sorted based on User's Feedback

why DC motor body is plain cover but AC motor is different like finse?..

Answer / avd

In AC motor load current flows in stator and causes heating
of stator. Hence to cool it down fan is provided which
cools the body. To increase area fins or plates are there
on body.

In DC motor load current flows through armature, causes
heat generation in armature. To take out the heat you need
to cooldown armature. Stator cooling is not required, hence
plan body is okay.

Answer / yagnesh

only for cooling purpose ac motor has out side cooling fan
while dc has insite fan because we can very the voltage of
armature not of field so heat is generate is there so
require to cool the armature not field in ac motor
viceversa.
