Can we get the shock if Power system is unearth means delta
type take an rated voltage as 6.6 KV?

Answer / sachin lakhe
Sure u will be shocked because as per the current law it
finds shortes path to be groun so current will pass through
body as we know rated voltage is so high.

Definitely you will be shocked if you touch phase terminal
provided that you are earthed.

yes in this case
as the voltage is very high
the current flows through our body to earth

For an unearthed system, if you touch a single phase you
wont get any shock, because there wont be any closed path
for the current to flow through your body. because current
always needs a closed path to flow.
when the system is unearthed, the current through your body
cant flow back to the source to make it aclosed path.
But, even for unearthed system if touch 2 phases at a time
you will feel shock.

yes, 100% you wiil get shocked because current always take
short way(by resistance) to pass from anything. also it
doesnt metter that delta or star transmissio line.

No, if its not earthed in anyway there won't be a complete
path back to the source. Most delta systems have one phase
earthed and now if u touch one phase in this system u
definitely will b shocked. In an earthed system current
always tries to find the shortest way back to the source.

Dear Sirs, I am a technical persons. In one of our Electrical Sub- Station, We have installed three numbers of 1250KVA ,11KV/0.415KV Transformer to feed the Factory load. We have found some abnormality. In one of our Transformers the leakeage current from transformer body to earth through earth continuity wire is almost 86 Amp but in other transformer it is (5-10)Amp. where the load current on three phase and neutral are respectively 1360Amp,1400Amp,1370 Amp & 176Amp. So please any technical person help me about the reasons of this situation and how I can rectify the fault. Moreover,I have measured the earth resistance of the Earth continuity wire which is less than 1 Ohm. Thanks Tapas Barua
