what will happen ac motor give to dc supply..

Answer / ashwin g reddy

AC motor works on the principle of induction..
The windings in the ac machine are wound either is delta or
star wound. ( ac machine windings )
Only if there is a rotating magnetic field we have an emf
being induced and hence the current.
So only when these current carrying conductors are placed in
the magnetic field, there is a torque!

So if we give a dc supply.. no emf hence no current and
hence no motion! Its in stand still position!

what will happen ac motor give to dc supply..

Answer / dilip dixit

AC MOTOR WORKS ON PRINCIPLE OF MUTUAL INDUCTION WHEN WE
GIVE AC SUPPLY TO THE MOTOR IT PRODUCE ROTATING FIELD OF
120 DEEGRE HENCE ROTAR ROTATE TO THE PROPOTIONAL OF FIELD &
BACK EMF GENERATES SO CURRENT WILL BE LIMITING . IF WE GIVE
DC SUPPLY TO THE MOTOR THERE IS NO FREQUENCY IN DC CAUSE
MOTOR BURNT DUE TO ABSENCE OF BACK EMF.

what will happen ac motor give to dc supply..

Answer / kapil n.bahadure

The ac motor work on the principal of mutul induction.when
ac motor connect on dc supply, then donot produce mutul
induction by dc supply.becouse not pressent frequency in dc
supply.so motor is not rotate. the impedance of motor very
low by dc supply,so motor burnout from dc supply.

what will happen ac motor give to dc supply..

Answer / ramesh

Regarding to the concept of ac the generated flux can cuts
the line of forces & produces rotating magnetic field.with
differencing to voltage to current angel between two motor
windings ,but in Dc there is no frequency possessed for
creating rotating magnetic field the winding are burns
