cut. we all know that power cannot be stored.what will

when L-L fault occurs, electrical power Pe (generated by
alternator) becomes zero but mechanical power Pm (turbine
giving to alternator) remains as it is i.e. Pm > Pe. so
alternator tries to retain its stability(see power swing
curve for details) by deaccelerating rotor(up to synchronous
speed).if area under acceleration is equal to area under
deacceleration machine retains its stability else protecting
relay trips the machine.
