damper windings are similar to unshorted squirrel cage
rotor. Current is induced in them by BLV and force is
generated by BIL which is used to damp out the unwanted
oscillations caused during hunting in synchronous m/c

Damper winding is use on the pole shoe of the field
winding,it is open circuited.the damper winding is also
called dammy coil is use for prevent the hunting(mechnical
vibration) in motor.

when measure the core loss of three phase distribution transformer or three phase reactor loss, one phase shown negative watt loss. why??
Why insulation level follows this order? transformer < bus bar < circuit breaker & Isolator < transmission line.
