It is conducted on first prototype of product to confirm
the design specifications.This test is not repeated on
other products of same type.e.g, temp rise test
Routine test:
It is conducted on each product manufactured to confirm
proper maufacturing of each and every units.This test is
essential to be performed on each unit before distaching
the product to site.

these tests are intended to prove or check the design
features. type tests are done on samples when new design or
design changes are introduced.
routine test--
these tests are intended to check the quality of the
individual test unit.
these tests are done to ensure the reliability of test
objects and consistency of the material used in their

i agree with the posted answers ,but my doubt is whether 1.Is the type test conducted on a sample product only or on one selected at random from different sample groups?Will periodical test come in the category of routine test and such tests should be conducted on all individual products in future?

Type test:
Engineer samples for test and it will be modified if the test failure.
Routine test:
When mass production, there will some of the test items be implemented in order to make sure the quality the same with engineer samples.
In safety standards, there have the other test which called Sample test, but I don't know what is different between sample test and the others.

for selection of transformer we will considering 5 to 6 times of starting current of higher rating motor connected to secondary side. according to process wise we will start the motors gradually suppose if we will start 15 to 20 motors at a time wat will happen?
