how to calculation increase capacitor, increase power factor for three phase...

Answer / Sanjay Sharma

To increase the Power Factor in a three-phase system by adding capacitors, follow these steps:
1. Calculate the total reactive power (Q) and apparent power (S) of the system.
2. Determine the desired power factor (PF).
3. Find the required real power (P) by multiplying the apparent power by the power factor: P = S × PF.
4. Calculate the total capacitive reactance (Xc) for a given frequency and the phase angle between voltage and current (θ).
5. Determine the number of capacitors needed, considering their individual capacitances (C) and voltage rating.
6. Connect the capacitors in parallel to the system.
