what is the reason for indication of light in the earth lamps of main switchboard.if there is an e..

Answer / Sheetal Singh

Earth lamps or Earth Fault Indicators on a Main Switchboard are used to indicate ground faults within the electrical circuit. When there's an earth fault, current flows through the earth path instead of its intended route. The three lights represent different phases (usually Line, Neutral, and Earth) in a three-phase system.nnOne lamp getting dim and the other two becoming brighter may indicate an unbalanced load or a ground fault on one phase.nnFor example, if there is a ground fault on the Line phase, the Line lamp will become dim because it has less current due to the ground leakage. The Neutral and Earth lamps might brighten because they still have their intended current flow.
