Universal motor is a motor, it can run both AC & DC Supply,
it contence carbon bruses, example of motor is we use at
home mixer cum grinder.

universal motor is a AC series motor .. it has capability to
work for both as and dc supply .
it can rotate with very high speed nearly 3600 RPM to 25000
rpm. Its the only motor which is having high range of speed
the main applications of this motors are
electric shavers,electric hand drillers.office machines
etc
these motors are avilable from the range 1/4 HP to 3/4 HP
