what is the difference between STAR and DELTA connection and application wise how it can be utiliz..

Answer / Harsh Mani Singh

STAR connection (Y-connection) connects each phase to the neutral, whereas DELTA connection (Δ-connection) does not. In STAR configuration, each phase is connected to the neutral and also to two other phases. In DELTA, each phase is directly connected to the other two phases. STAR is often used for distribution of power because it provides a ground, while DELTA is commonly used in high voltage transmission as it eliminates the need for a neutral wire. Both configurations can be utilized depending on the specific requirements of the circuit.

In a power conditoining unit (inverter) of a solar plant when we measure the d.c. current fed by different strings of solar plates to inverter, the current in the negative wire is less almost by 1 ampere to the current in its positive wire say current in positive wire 5 A , then current in negative wire of the same string is 4 A. Since the current entering should be equal to current leaving then why the current is noticably less in negative wire.
