what is the function of choke in tube

what is the function of choke in tube..

Answer / mahavir jagdev

the choke along with the starter is used to give the high voltage start to the tube light which has heating filaments at both ends to ionize the gas inside. once the tube starts glowing then only 90 volts is required to keep it going, so the starter stops the current flow into the heating filaments and the choke uses it's impedence to absorb the extra voltage from 220 volts to keep the tube light voltage to 90 volts.

When testing an earthing connection, we use a 60 or 100 candle bulb with a phase connected direct from supply and the other wire to the new earthing provided. If the bulb glows then the earth is ok.Else earth connection is not Ok. So, why dont we can use all the home appliances taking a single wire from the phase and the return connection to Earth instead of return connection to neutral?

1 “earthing” for bonding of equipment and circuits to common plant earth electrode potential, 2 “protective earthing (PE)” when this bonding is required for personal safety provisions 3 “grounding” for interference suppressing bonding of screens, sys-tems with ground level 4. low-impedance earthing ? 5.primary earthing system and secondary earthing system what is that? 6.earthing electrode or mesh net earthing electrode ? very confusing , simple but very informative help required ? i will be very very thankful to you guys.
