In pile foundations, as we all know, the strength of the pile depends on two factors, namely end-bearing and skin resistance.. Thus, the skin resistance is the factor which depends on the Pile Socketing Length and thus it depends on the type of underground soil, estimated design load, number of piles in the pile group, reinforcement used.
