I am not aware of Class 10A, I am aware of Class 5, 10, 15,
20, 25 & 30. These refer to the tripping curve of a
thermal/electronic relay - eg Class 10 means 6 x motor full
load current (FLC) for 10 seconds (normal squirrel cage
induction motor). Therefore Class 30 means 6 x FLC for 30
seconds and Class 5 means 6 x FLC for 5 seconds etc....

Class 10A relays are those that will trip within 2 to 10
seconds when supplied with 7.2 times the current setting.
Similarly there are Class 10, 20 & 30 relays where the
tripping times at 7.2 times the current varies. The class is
helpful in correct selection of the relay for your motor
protection as it takes into account the heavy start or
normal start of your motor.

Standard tripping classes are 10 A, 10, 20, 30. The
tripping
class indicates according to IEC 60947-4-1 the maximum
tripping time in seconds under specified conditions of test
at
7.2 times the setting current and specifics tripping and non
tripping times for 1.5 and 7.2 times the setting current.

Adding to Mr Paul , the class of relay indicated the error
percent. usually matched with the CT. also they will not be
marked as "class 10A"
