an isolator on or off doing by manualy but breaker tripps
autometicaly depend on trip setting

Breaker has trip function, breaker can operate
automatically like opening & closing the circuit with help
of UV & CC coil. It case over current it will trip.
Isolator has no trip function it has fuse. in this case we
can open & close the circuit by manually. It case over
current fuse will open.

circuit breaker only opens only when there is a fault
condition or fault current or abnormal conditions is sensed
by CT via protecting relay via CB --(opens)
after then the isolator is opened manually or automatically.
but at the time of maintenance or future expansion in the
line the isolator is opened first followed by breaker and
then the charge within the lines are discharged then the
maintenance work is carried out..........

BE CLEAR THAT ISOLATOR HAS NO FUSE MEANS IT HAS NO
PROTECTION IT IS ONLY A SWITCH.
