What is the difference between set functions and filter function in dimensional data?..

Set functions in dimensional data (like SUM(), AVG(), COUNT(), MAX(), MIN()) aggregate values across one or more dimensions. Filter functions (like FILTER(), TOP-N, BOTTOM-N) help narrow down the dataset by applying conditions on the attributes of a fact table.

I have a value prompt in my prompt page.Now if I set the filter to required then I have to select a value from the list and I will get the respective data in the report page.But If I select nothing then I will get the complete data in the report page. I want that if I select nothing from the prompt list then nothing is displayed in my report page. How should I do this?

It is possible to select more query items in value prompt? i.e when i use drag down i want to display these items like customerid in customer query subject, employeeid in employee query subject and orderid in order query subject..?becoz i want u display when i select a value(ex:customerid)in value prompt ,i need to display another report for all details customer.So, i need how to link for that process...? pls tel me any one knows ,i want to create that report..? thanks , basha
