Why Batteries are rated as AH i.e AmpereHour, and its formula to converting AmpHour to Amp..

Answer / prashant

whenever we switch on any appliance at that instants current
is the quantity that is been actually used. Batteries are
used to supply power hence forth their ratings are mentioned
in AH ( Ampere Hour ) i.e current capacity that can be
delivered in a period of 1 hour.you can divide Amp-hr by 60
to get amperes used in a minute.both are readings for
current only

Why Batteries are rated as AH i.e AmpereHour, and its formula to converting AmpHour to Amp..

Answer / fakhir

A battery can deliver the power for limited time period.
Battery rating in AH reflects its capability to supply X
amps in a period of one hour. Operational time of a battery
thus can be extended in proportion to amps loading i-e
lower the connected load higher the service time. Thus
expressing capacity in absolute 'amps' does not make
sense.

Answer / venkatesan.j

It reflets how much current it can supply for own hour, but
if reduced current is drawn then the time period it can
supply is obtained dividing the AH by current drawn.
