measure the height of the tank, up to which this 30000
liter of water makes. take this height as H. By the formula
P=rho*g*h. You can calculate the pressue exerted by this
3000 liers of water in terms of KG/cm2. then convert this
KG in to MMWC, through the relation 1kg=10000mmwc. by
having the HP in terms of mmWc. You can calibrate the DP
level transmitter.

first select the type of instrument,If not measure the
hydrostatic pressure exert on the bottom at filled and
empty condition.This give you a DP created by level.Take a
DP type Pressure trans. and calibrate in term of that DP.

Basically we need. 30,000 litre is the quantity nothing
but volume, we know that volume=Area*Length Cubic Metre
or Cubic Centimetre. If we know the Area of the Tank we can
find the length. If we know the length then we can proceed
to calculate the Pressure, Pressure=Height*density of
liquid. Then we can know the calibration range of the Tx.
in Kg/Sq.cm
I hope this is the method you can adopt.

very 1stly you can fill the tank upto certain level where
tank contains 30000 litres.Measure that height of circular
tank and measure dia of circular tank by formula V=pi d2/4 h.
For LRV OF transmitter=height x density of liquid
For example LRV for water and Transmitter at bottom
LRV=Height x 1
=0 m x 1
=0 mmwc
URV=Height x 1
=------mmwc
and put these values to the diaphragm type level transmitter

measure the tank height make sure which liquid is using inside the tank.
formula : height X density
suppose your tank height is 5 mtr convert it in to mmH2O
its come to 5000mmH2O
if the liquid is water,density is( 1 )
URV= 0 X 1 = 0
LRV=5000mmH2O X 1 = 5000mmH2O
it is a hart type use communicator & enter the data
manual calibration measure the mm on the 0% and turn the zero potentio meter until it reach 4 MA
fill the tank up to 100% and turn the span potentio meter until it reach 20 MA

insteead of any calculation you can use radar type level
transmitter for that u need only height of the tank.

have operator manual reel the level in tank. Hookup hart
communicator and check zero and span. Correct if necessary
using communicator.

Q1: Consider part of a control loop, which excludes the transmitter, consisting of a process, a controller and a control valve which may be represented by two dead times of 0.5 min each and three exponential lags of 0.8 min., 1.0 min. and 1.5 min. respectively. We wish to express this system as an overall first order plus dead time (FOPLD) model ie gain, time constant and process dead time. (We will see later that this is often done, to simplify controller tuning). For this exercise, gain is considered to be 1.0. (A) If the transmitter is a flow transmitter whose behaviour can be described by a dead time of 0.2 min. and an exponential lag of 0.5 min. in terms of the overall dead time and overall first order lag how can the system behaviour be approximated ? Overall dead time = Overall time constant = (B) If the transmitter is a temperature transmitter with a temperature sensor in a protecting well whose behaviour can be described by a dead time of 0.7 min. and an exponential lag of 15 min. how can the overall system behaviour be approximated now? Overall dead time = Overall time constant =
