what is the relation between Sq mm of wire and its current
carrying capacity?

Answer / jk
Standard quation R=1/a and I=1/R
a=cross sectional area in Sq.mm
R=Resistance in ohms
I=Current in Ampere
now if we shorting above two euation in one form the the
formula become I=a means current is directly proportional
to the cross-sectional area of cable.inshort if cross-
sectional area increase then the current carrying capacity
is also increase of the cable.

sq mm means areaof crossection of the conductor
R prportional L/A
I=1/R
I=A/L
I= CURRENT
L= LENGTH OF THE CONDUCTOR
A= AREA OF CROSSECTION OF THE CONDUCTOR
SO AREA INCREASES ,CURRENT CARRYING CAPACITY ALSO INCREASES

Answer / chiplonkar
Current carrying capacity of a wire depends on the thermal
properties of the insulation applied over the conductor.
i.e. its temperature withstanding capacity decides the
current carrying capacity. For sending higher currents in a
wire,one must have lower resitance in order to limit the
Heat generated in the conductor.
