what is the relation between Sq mm of wire and its current
carrying capacity?
Answer Posted / chiplonkar
Current carrying capacity of a wire depends on the thermal
properties of the insulation applied over the conductor.
i.e. its temperature withstanding capacity decides the
current carrying capacity. For sending higher currents in a
wire, one must have lower resitance in order to limit the
Heat generated in the conductor.
