what is the difference between transmitter and converters?..

Answer / earnest

A transmitter senses the measured variable , convert same
into an analog signal of 4-20 mA and finally transmit same
to the remote control, while a converter is a transducer
which converts one form of signal to another. e.g. an I/P
which convert current into pneumatic.

what is the difference between transmitter and converters?..

Answer / peer mohamed

Transmitter is used for boosting the low signal and send it through communicate for a long distance. It's mainly in half duplex mode only. But Converter converts one medium of transmission signal to another medium in half or full duplex mode. For example, full duplex single mode fiber to UTP converter used in CCTV applications.

A Transmitter boost the very low level output of a
Transducer and transmit (wired or wireless) the same to
drive the control element. But the Converter change one form
of energy to another form

what is the difference between transmitter and converters?..

Answer / gautam

Tx. Means transmit the single as 4 to 20 ma which should be in electrical form only but in case of converter is nothing but transducer which converts 1form of energy to an another form whether it can be mechanical to electrical or electrical to mechanical or electrical to electrical.....

Answer / grajesh

Tranmitter will convert the phisical parameter to electical
parameter,Eg: Pressure to Current , while converter will
convert the signal for same Eg: Current to Voltage , power
to Current

How can we say that accuracy of measurement increases by using 3 or 4 wire RTD? because for example: If resistance of RTD element is say r ohms and Resistance of the cable from transmitter to RTD is R ohms And if 4 wire RTD is used, ____._____________________ R ohms | |_____._____________________ R ohms / \ / r ohms \ \ | |______.__________________ R Ohms | |_______._________________ R ohms Then the actual resistance measured will be: Total = r + R/2 + R/2 = r +R Ohms Note: r+R instead of r ohms. hence error
