Hi
Suppose we have a wye/wye transformer which is grounded at
both sides,in this situation, do we have ay ground
transformer? in other words, ground transformer can do any
thing more (while we have nuetral wire in both sides)? As
the last question, what about 3rd harmonic? we have two
choices: first using wye/delta transformer + ground
transformer and second using wye/wye earthed connection.in
the former choice, we dont have 3rd harmoonic at the
secondary side but what about Yn/yn conection? do we suffer
from 3rd harmonic in the Yn/yn connection?

Is a contactor (or master relay) required between incoming lines and a VFD? The question goes to safety. If a contactor were used before the VFD and an e-stop engaged then the motor will coast to a stop (i.e. VFD loses power) instead of stopping much faster if the VFD braking fucntion were used. It would make more sense to keep power on the VFD.
ii) A shunt motor supplied at 230V, runs at 900 rpm when the current is 30A. The resistance of the armature is 0.4 ohms. Calculate the resistance required in series with the armature to reduce the speed to 600 rpm, assuming that the armature current is then 20A. [12]
