Hi friend i m glad dat u came up with a question like dat .
i appreciate ur indepth study of power system .
well basically the rotor system of altenators are unearthed
due to which the single gound fault at the rotor doesnt
actually disturbs the rotor as there is no fault current ,
however if a second gorund to earth faukt develops then the
short circuit between the windings results as the fault
current gets a path to flow . the former is called the 1st
stage fault while the latter is called the 2nd stage fault.

What is meant by field loss in a DC motor?
There is no such thing as a Generator. All power generating devices are Alternator since both generate alternating current since this is the only way electrical power can be generated. In "generators" the alternating current is converted into DC inside the housing of the "generator" in order to give out DC Do you agree? If not please educate me. How else is DC generated if not like above?

I have tow 200 KVA UPS, both are in parallel mode.My question is that, both are running on battery when power fail, if one of them fail (Eg rectifire fails or some other reason), at thet time reverse power will come to faild ups if it comes then it will harm to failed ups or not? if not then how it protects to faied ups????????????????
