In Battery Charger - What is the meaning of End Cell
Voltage and Float Voltage.
Answers were Sorted based on User's Feedback
End cell voltage means the lowest voltage of cell after
that voltage if we discharge the cell then the cell losses
its normal charging characterstic and cell get damaged.
Float voltage is that voltage on which a faulty cell/deeply
discharged cell get charged .

Folat voltage is that; the out put voltage of the charger
just above the battery set voltage which is sufficient
enough to charge the set of batteries, without allowing the
battery set voltage to drain its attained value.

Float voltage means normal charging voltage when cell
charge@ C-10 ratio and when cell is discharged and nominal
chrging required.
End cell voltage means the lowest voltage of cell after
that voltage the cell losses and cell get damaged.

End cell voltage is the level to which the battery string voltage or cell
voltage is allowed to fall to before affecting the load.
Float voltage is the voltage at which a battery is maintained after being fully charged(boost charged) to maintain the battery capacity and compensate for the self-discharge of the battery.

In Battery Charger we got ouly two things
1.Float Voltage
2.Boost Voltage
We got the End cell voltage when we check the single cell
voltge this should not go down less than 1.75V

Float Voltage - Battery voltage at zero current (with
battery disconnected). You must wait about 20 minutes for
the battery to stabilize at this voltage.

Float voltage is that voltage across the battery when the
battery is conected in parallel to a float rectifier
| Is This Answer Correct ? | 1 Yes | 16 No |
battery means group of cells it is connected in series
because voltage also increased you see the last cell
voltage that is float voltage

Just a silly question but just to make my curious mind bac to normal - Why was not 67 and 67N relays built into a single relay as i have noticed that the R,Y,B CT wiring end up into the 67 relay while the common of the R,Y,B CT wiring end up into the 67N relay. Then it was better if a single relay was manufactured just like the distance relay (21). Another question i would like to ask is - how do we know where the 67 and 67 N relay has to be placed.why is it not placed at the transformer bay? In the substaion that i am working -i have noticed that it is placed between a breaker and a common double bus bar and this line bay is connected to another substation at a remote place which is furthur connected to a load. B U S______CT for 67 & 67N ______Breaker _____ remot s/s. B A R
