the automatic voltage regulator (AVR) senses changes in
voltage and sends a signal to the controller on the tap
changer to either raise or lower the tap.it should be noted
that the tap changer is always located on the HV side of
the transformer inorder to interrupt smaller currents as
compared to the LV side

to a stepper motor that how many step(s) & what direction
have to go for achiving the required voltage.
And the changeover held inside a oil chamber to avoid
