A choke is connected in one end of the tube light and a
starter is in series with the circuit. When supply is
provided the starter will intrupt the supply intermittant
cycle of AC. Due to the sudden change of supply the chock
will generate around 1000volts . This volt will capable of
to break the electrons inside the tube to make elctrone
flow. once the current passess through the tube the starter
circuit will be out of part. now there is no chande of
supply causes chocke voltage normalised and act as minimise
the current.

A fluorescent light does not have the usual glowing
filament of an incandescent bulb, but instead contains a
mercury vapor that gives off ultraviolet light when
ionized. The ultraviolet light makes particles that coat
the inside of the tube, and these particles glow or
fluoresce (see How Fluorescent Lamps Work for details).
Fluorescent starters are used in several types of
fluorescent lights. The starter is there to help the lamp
light. When voltage is applied to the fluorescent lamp,
here's what happens:
The starter (which is simply a timed switch) allows current
to flow through the filaments at the ends of the tube.
The current causes the starter's contacts to heat up and
open, thus interrupting the flow of current. The tube
lights.
Since the lighted fluorescent tube has a low resistance,
the ballast now serves as a current limiter.
When you turn on a fluorescent tube, the starter is a
closed switch. The filaments at the ends of the tube are
heated by electricity, and they create a cloud of electrons
inside the tube. The fluorescent starter is a time-delay
switch that opens after a second or two. When it opens, the
voltage across the tube allows a stream of electrons to
flow across the tube and ionize the mercury vapor.
Without the starter, a steady stream of electrons is never
created between the two filaments, and the lamp flickers.
Without the ballast, the arc is a short circuit between the
filaments, and this short circuit contains a lot of
current. The current either vaporizes the filaments or
causes the bulb to explode.

tube light connected sires supply 230 volt single phase
phase terminal connect switch to choke one end terminal
other terminal connect tube light one end 1st terminal other
connect the stater sires tube other side pin terminal last
terminal connect the nuteral terminal
Working:
choke is used to get high voltage for produce electron
between filaments and mercury combination..at the time
starter working as a switch..when the light illuminates then
the starter disconnected due to inefficient voltage..(at the
time flourescent acting as a starter)

Connection: The phase connnected to the one terminal of the choke and getting series connection from another terminal of chocke..choke's output connected to any one of the lamp holder's first terminal and get series connection from another terminal of that holder..then the starter connected series with first holder's output and second holder's any one of the terminal..after that neutral is connected to free end of 2nd holder..

Why we transmit the power at the voltage in the multiple of 11 or 1.1 like 11kv, 22kv, 66kv, 132kv...... some one told me that it is due to fomr factor 1.1 of sine wave. its fine but while transforming we can choose any voltage, so why only multiple of 1.1 there also.......? plz tell me.
