CU STRIP IS MORE CONDUCTIVE THEN GI STRIP.
SO LEAKAGE CURRENT OF X-MER GET LOW RESISTIVE PATH.
YES IT AFFECT IN FOME OF HEAT

no issue in using GI strip for transformer earthing, but the problem is the GI strip used should be of sufficient size while copper strip used can be of reduced size, so places where space constraints occur, copper strips are used, moreover economical considerations are also important in chosing the strips. It won't affect the transformer performance if GI is used instead of copper.

Electrical peoples widely used cu strips instead of GI
strips for transformer neutral, because whenever unbalance
currents occurs in the line it have to flow to the
ground, for this we need high conductivity material.thats
why we are using cu. strip instead of GI strip.usually
copper is an high conductivity material than GI material

Copper Material current carring capacity is more than GI material. so when ever any fault current occurs, they can easily pass through copper material instead of GI. so we are used copper

If we use GI strip instead of cu. The benefit is cost and also GI resist the fault current than cu, so the level of fault current Is slightly reduced than using cu. ...

GI strip can be used insted of cu but it must be capable of
conduting the current without overheating. now GI strips
are pleantly used everywhere as per cost consideratuon.

Answer / vaseekaran
we can use GI strips only for home purpose.when we recomend
for companys and transformers cu strips are more prforable
bcoz of its conducting capacity and with standing capacity
of heat and bending quality of its propotion.
