In volute casing the discharge area is more. so as per
bernoulli's principle the pressure must be reduces also
from the basics, pressure = Force/Area. so pressure and
area are inversily proportional. By considering these two
basic rules pressure must be reduces. But in any
centrifugal pump, the pressure is increasing. How the
velocity is converted into pressure. In my view only head
is increases but how the pressure increases?

pressure=force/area cannot be applied for fluid dynamics. Its
valid only for fluid statics.
Actually flow rate is constant. Therefore when area
increases,velocity decreases.According to bernoulli's theorem,
P / ρg + v2/ 2g + z =constant,
If v decreases,pressure increases.

Answer / karthick
yes chaitanya you are right.while flowing thru the
centrifugal pump apply the continuity eqn that is mass flow
rate is constant as per continuity eqn,if area increases
velocity decreases so as per bernoulli's eqn this decrease
in velocity is converted into pressure energy.this pressure
energy rises the head.the volute casing is nothing but a
diffuser
