Answer / mohammed hussain a

Power in KVA = (1.732 * V in Volts * I in Amps)/1000*PF
For 3 Phase Supply

Power in KVA = (V in Volts * I in Amps)/1000*PF For 1
Phase Supply

or
KVA = KW/PF

Answer / r.muthu kumar

Killo Watts When KVA is knomw = KVA X Power Factor

Killo Watts 3 Phase = (I X V X 1.73 X P.F.) / 1000

Killo Watts 1 Phase = (I X V X P.F.) / 1000

if we convert kw into kva,which one formula use by us,pls tell me?..

Answer / shock moorthy

For 3phase supply
KW= 1.732VIcosQ
KVA=1.732VI
for 1phase supply
KW=VICosQ
KVA=VI
if KW givwn means
KVA=KW/CosQ

In a power conditoining unit (inverter) of a solar plant when we measure the d.c. current fed by different strings of solar plates to inverter, the current in the negative wire is less almost by 1 ampere to the current in its positive wire say current in positive wire 5 A , then current in negative wire of the same string is 4 A. Since the current entering should be equal to current leaving then why the current is noticably less in negative wire.
