based on the formula [dA/A=(m^2-1)*dv/v]
if machnumber and change in area known, what ever the sign
we get -ve or +ve we will deside
if dA=+VE and m>1 then dv=+ve hence nozzle
if dA=-VE and m>1 then dv=-ve hence diffuser

It may be diffuser or simply a pipe depending upon the folw
