I would like to add to my previous answer: If we are using
serial communication than a clock frequency of 11.0592MHZ
is used. while calculating the Baud rate of serial
communication, using 11.0592MHZ we will get standard baud
rates of IBM compatible Baud rate.

The operating clock frequency of different versions of the
8051 based devices is 12MHZ to 40MHZ. Some of the 8051
based devices from ATMEL, Dallas semiconductor, etc.
operates at upto than 100MHZ.
