Answer / bk
Basic difference is the dielectric strength/ thickness of
insulation. For LV PVC is OK. However, for HT cable cross
linked poly ethylene(XLPE) is used.

In High Tension cable there is no Neutral. In market will
get only 1,3 core cbles where as in LT cable there is a
neutral U have to prefer for 3.5 or 4 core cable.HT cable
having Screen to avoid voids and cavities.

The basic differance betwwen the HT and LT cable is
insulation of the cable. Because of insulation is always
govern by voltage level so we have higher on HT cable
compare to LT cable

LT HT
1. Use Below 450V Above 500
2. Insulation PVC XLPE
3. Core(Neutral) Yes No
4. Grading 1100 V Above 11KV
5. O.D. - Lesser than LT
6. Current
Carring Cap. - Greater than LT
