generally diode is used across the DC contactor coil or
across switch in reverse biased mode. when DC contactor is
deenergised it contains some energy in form of residual
magnetic flux and creates sufficient spark during breaking
the supply. this spark detriorate the switch contact and
switch will get damaged very soon.

in my observation NCT is used at Karnataka power transmission. why we are not used in andhra pradesh

Hello everyone, somebody knows what is a "surplice power" ? i want to measure voltage difference between neutral and earth so i just simply use voltmeter. my question is that may i use this measure continuosly.or there are some electricity board restrication on that? or it creat some problem on my measuring device..?
