Semiconductor is acting as insulator during the noraml
temp/ atomsphere/voltage, but on applying potential diff.
across its terminal it behaves like conductor. it has
negetive co- efficient of temperature.

Semiconductor is more like an insulator since they both
have a bandgap. The only difference is the bandgap of
semiconductor is smaller than an insulator. At low
temperature, intrinsic(undoped) semiconductor is an
insulator. A semiconduct's resistivity decrease with
increasing temperature, while a metal's resitivity increase
with increasing temperature.

Semiconductor: Semiconductor, means it is neither a
conductor nor an insulator. but when u give some voltage to
it, It says that "say me as an conductor" i.e.
semiconductor. When u don't apply any voltage to it. that
time u call me as an insulator. So, one word it is
semiconductor.
