What are the conditions for sustained oscillator or what is backhouse criterion?
Answer / Shilpi Sankhwar
The Backhouse Criterion defines the conditions for a circuit to sustain oscillations without any external signal. For a circuit to be an oscillator, it must have positive feedback and at least one energy storage element (inductor or capacitor). Additionally, there should be phase shift of 180 degrees between the input and output signals in the frequency domain.
