Projectile motion refers to the trajectory of an object that is launched with a specific initial velocity in a given direction, without any external forces acting upon it except gravity. In contrast, rocket motion includes both projectile motion and the additional thrust generated by exhausting propellants from the back of the rocket. This thrust changes the velocity vector, causing acceleration and allowing the rocket to change its trajectory.
