Explain zener breakdown and avalanche breakdown?
Answer / Deepesh Kumar Dubey
Zener Breakdown occurs in a diode when a reverse voltage is applied that exceeds the diode's Zener voltage. This results in a constant, stable voltage drop across the diode, making it useful for voltage regulation.
Avalanche Breakdown occurs when a forward-biased semiconductor device (usually a diode) is subjected to an excessively high electric field. This creates a large number of electron-hole pairs, causing a sudden increase in current.
